Bring one situation.

You don’t need a polished explanation or a dramatic story.
You might arrive with:
“I keep saying yes before checking what I want.”
“I go quiet when someone is disappointed.”
“I know what I need afterward, but I can’t find it in the moment.”
We’ll begin wherever you are and choose one situation to explore.
What we’ll do together
I’ll listen as you describe what happened. Together, we’ll notice the early signs that something shifted, how you responded, and what became difficult to hear or say.
We’ll explore what your protection may have been trying to do and what you needed in that moment.
Then, if it feels useful, we’ll try a small practice or response that fits your actual life. That might be giving yourself time before answering, asking for clarification, naming a need, or setting a boundary.
You can pause or pass on any question. We’ll work at a pace that feels manageable.

Leave with a plan for your next difficult moment
By the end of our session, we’ll put your When Tension Rises Plan into words you can take with you.
Your plan will include:
-
Your early sign: How you can recognize that you’re starting to lose access to yourself.
-
What you need: What would give you room to hear yourself before responding.
-
Your next response: A practical action or sentence that fits your situation.
For example:
“When I notice myself rushing to explain, I’ll pause and remind myself that I don’t have to resolve everything immediately. I can say, ‘I need a little time to think before I answer'."
You’ll have something specific to practice in your own life, whether the moment calls for clarification, a boundary, time to decide, or a conversation you want to revisit.
The feelings may still be there.
Your plan gives you a way to make room for yourself while they are.

A few things you may be wondering
What if I don’t know how to explain it?
“This keeps happening, and I’d like to understand it” is enough. We can find a starting point together.
What if I’m already doing therapy or other personal work?
You can bring a familiar everyday situation and explore how to put what you know into practice. This session complements that work; it does not replace therapy.
Do I need to prepare?
Just answer the short booking questions and choose one situation you’re comfortable exploring. No worksheets or long history needed.
